We designed the logo to be aspect ratio agnostic – the icon can be moved around the name and color field for a horizontal placement (above) or a vertical placement (below.) By approaching a logo in this manner, you’re assured of maximum flexibility when it comes to using your new logo.
Type Of Project:
Logo design & 3D animation
Another internal branding project at the studio, Vector FX was to be a series of downloadable vector graphics and images. We played around with the idea for a while, but shelved it in favor of our free Morgue Files approach.
Even though it has a 3D appearance, the Vector FX logo wasn’t designed in 3D at all, but as flat vector art. When it came to developing a 3D animation for the mark, we first had to create a “flat” version of the icon and create a 3D model from that. While the icon isn’t exactly the same – it’s close enough to pass most viewers. The animation was originally developed in Flash and then converted to an animated GIF for playback on tablets and smartphones.
