Cartoon and mascot logos certainly have their place in developing a brand, especially in the restaurant & food services sector. Designs like this are created in stages – the first (and most critical) is the development of the mascot character itself. For Tweeter’s Chicken Crib, a Dublin, Ohio based take out restaurant specializing in chicken wings, the design direction was preordained – the logo needed a friendly chicken character that could be integrated into various applications. The typography had to stand on its own too – horizontal signage on the restaurant store front wouldn’t permit the use of the character due to space restrictions. The logo was also designed with, and without the tagline “delivery done right.” (below)
