Original Bitmap logo art

Project notes.

The Town of Dewy-Humbolt (Arizona) had used photos of a local artist’s watercolor paintings in their logo. By default, any digital artwork was always in bitmap format. Worse, they had lost access to high-resolution scans of the paintings themselves so any images they did have were low-resolution. These logos could only be used “size as” – any enlargement of pixel based images degrades quality – the logo would appear blurry and jagged (see above.)

Logo with detail

Production notes.

There’s only one way to convert logo art like this and that’s by hand (auto-tracing usually results in poorly formatted art.) Here’s what the repaired logo artwork looks like (in preview mode.)
