Animation project: Pixel & Vector
Rapid-fire animation of our Pixel & Vector logo, expanding the original design into a website introduction movie. Pixel & Vector are one of our internal brands, developed as “guides” to our technical and file format tutorial sections (recently ported into our Logo Design Help center.) The style is reminiscent of Saturday morning cartoons and is consistent with the overall “look and feel” of the characters.
As the animation was featured as a website page banner, it had to be small and quick-loading, so we kept the number of elements to a minimum. We also avoided any 3D symbols (they are animated in frame-by-frame sequences) and utilized Flash’s timeline “tweening” of common elements to keep the file size “light.” Presentation doesn’t “loop” to beginning, but to a part of the timeline that allows the characters to show motion, while keeping the final title on display (if you want to watch from the beginning, you’ll need to refresh the page.)
This animation was developed entirely in Flash, using vector-based artwork from Illustrator as a starting point. It has been converted here to HTML5 for preview on Flash-restricted devices.
All animations & movies presented in our portfolio are not for sale or license.
