Like most logos for towns, city and communities, the design for Shafter featured a famous and instantly recognizable landmark – the town bandshell. Once that structure was turned into iconic artwork, it was only a matter of developing the typography and developing it into a logo. Below are some alternative configurations as presented to the city board:

Logo, stationery and misc. design for the City of Shafter, a California community that were looking to brand themselves.
According to the Shafter board, the successful conclusion of this logo design project ended a mutli-year, multiple designer quest to develop a logo for the city:
“Thank you for all your hard work in helping us to find a new logo. We have been working with at least two other designers over the past 2 or 3 years and had been unsuccessful in reaching a design that most people liked. Your latest design has received favorable comments all across the board..”
