This logo features a ‘kitchen sink’ of icons related to fishing and camping – tent, fishing bobber, geese, bear paw and a rustic campsite scene. Despite it’s relatively complex appearance this design remains visually well balanced as well as technically simple for reproduction on a wide range of media. Planned usage involved vinyl cut signage, so flat colors were a necessity – the print version differed in a small blended portion (the campfire rocks) – more of a designer ‘Kilroy was here’ than anything else. The use of faux drop shadows helps give this logo its three dimensional appearance (as opposed to actual drop shadows which can cause reproduction and scaling issues.) Immediate use was on marketing brochures, so we also developed a two color version to cut down costs on the initial run.
Type Of Project:
Brand development for a camping and fishing supplies retailer. This design is a great example of a “graphic” logo treatment.
