Finance & Financial Company Logos.
Any company that is involved in the accounting or financial services industry, be it a bank, accountant or financial advisor, should always aim for a logo design to portray a company that is committed to professionalism and accuracy. The bottom line - we're talking about OPM (Other People's Money) and they tend to want financial matters looked after by consummate professionals, and that image needs to be developed by your corporate identity. Most logos for financial companies, tax consultants and accountants should avoid any 'yoo-hoo' imagery. The use of dollar signs, or other financial clip art logos is forbidden (or it SHOULD be) as this kind of visual treatment is more befitting an MLM (Multi-Level-Marketing) company or other 'get-rich-quick' schemes. Certainly not conservative companies who can be trusted for sound financial advice and accounting prowess. Financial service logo designs are a classic example of the K.I.S.S. principle - it's okay to want to bring in another 'theme' - i.e. caring, guiding, etc, - but it must be secondary to the simplicity of the overall 'look and feel' of solid trustworthiness. Certain corollary or support industries can be a little more flexible in the type of graphic presented (Trent Card Financial design above is for a debit card) but even then, conservatism is the rule, rather than the exception.
