Logos for Internet, web and ecommerce companies tend to be the most cutting-edge designs (some might argue gimmicky) when compared to all the other design categories featured in our portfolio. Due to real time nature of the internet, a logo can be published on a web site pretty well instantly, as opposed to the real world where the development and publication of a logo in traditional media - magazines & books for example - can take months. Additionally, Internet and ecommerce logos, especially if developed for web site use only, are not restricted by the printing and reproduction limitations that sometimes hamper the creative boundaries of a traditional company. This freedom can lead to some pretty nifty creative solutions, but also runs the risk of whatever technique used turning into a design cliche - witness the logo swoosh from a few years ago - though an experienced designer can usually avoid these pitfalls.
