Water logo - Altantic Edge Scuba Diving & Watersports.

Behind the Design Scenes: Since The Logo Factory's humble beginnings, we've worked on quite a few designs for scuba diving businesses, dive shops and equipment manufacturers (perhaps our interest lies in the fact that several on staff - including our creative director - are avid scuba divers). Atlantic Edge Aqua Sports has always been one of our favorites. From the wild variety of colors, to the decent illustration of a manta ray (the bottom-up perspective gives a sense of being under the manta ie: underwater) combined with a font treatment that still holds up - Atlantic Edge remains one of the logos were proud to have created.

As with most full color logos like this, it's imperative that the client realize the ramifications before hand - to achieve the effect shown above, this logo can only be reproduced as full-color CMYK. There are a BW linear and spot color variants for selective uses, but those logos are NOT what you see here (don't misunderstand - the design holds up, but the vivid color - an integral part of this logo, is lost). Also, it's critical that a business that plans to have a logo like this makes sure they receive a vector based version. If not, any reproduction will have all sorts of complications. Other than that, an illustrative logo of this nature can be a great way to brand your business, and as this example shows us, an illustrative logo does stand the test of time.
