Behind the Design Scenes: When it comes to designing logos dealing with the real estate industry, clients are often enthusiastic to throw the 'kitchen sink' at their new corporate identity. Not that this is a problem, nor do we disagree (illustrative logos are a specialty for The Logo Factory - many of our other real estate logos are quite complex). On the other hand, sometimes a clean, simple approach is called for, as well as being the most adaptable solution. Case in point - East Coast Estates, a corporate logo developed for a real estate developer (three guess to where they're located..). Rather than an entire illustration of a beach scene, our designers took a very simple concept (a street sign) and worked it into a simple, yet effective design. Clean. Elegant. And hopefully, reflective of the upscale housing development that used the design. A simple color scheme was used (the logo is actually only two spot colors - the birds and sun are a percentage screen of yellow) to allow the logo to be used in a myriad of corporate promotion materials - signs, vehicle decals (a particularly limiting media) and the usual business promotional items - stationery, business cards and presentation folders. The font set is off-the-shelf, but customized to accommodate some 'wonky' spacing issues - inherent with many letter combinations.
