Surfing logo - LA Avenue Surfboards.
Behind the Design Scenes: The creative process for any surf logos is supposed to end up with an image that is a little less conservative than most logos. Except, that is, if the logo is to be the corporate brand of the surfboard manufacturer itself. Then, the logo has to walk a thin line - still 'jazzy' enough to appeal to surfers and sports enthusiasts, while still remaining mainstream enough to appeal to distributors and sports stores whose eye is always on the bottom line. For LA Avenue Surfboards, our design team created a series of identities for the various board lines, as well as the corporate icon (above). The logo consists of a highly abstract surfer astride a board, ripping through a nefty wave graphic, while the logo font treatment contains a unique color blend. This artwork is still in vector format, so it can be reproduced at any size (vector based .EPS files are output at the highest resolution available.
