Landscaping logo - Planter's Dream Gardening Products.

Behind the Design Scenes: The client supplied concept for Planter's Dream was a nifty one - rather than a 'plain old' plant fertilizer, they wanted to market the gardening product as a 'plant aphrodisiac' - a super fertilizer if you will - and wanted a product logo that would illustrate this unique approach. Predictably our designers came up with a lot of inappropriate icons during the initial concept stage (trouble is, the landscaping audience is an older, more conservative one, so these kind of risque images were no-no's).

After a few rounds, they settled down to creating a logo that was right for the the product AND the target group. We created a plant icon (with a hint of character and 'come hither' positioning) and built the name using atypical font and typography work. The fonts were then completely customized - some letterforms were even worked into the plant graphic - and an organic color scheme worked up. The overlapped in the design lettering required some outlining before the project was ready for finalization.
