Behind the Design Scenes: Sometimes, what our logo designers feel is their best work never sees the light of day. The client may have a different design direction, or our preliminary designs are not appropriate for the marketing material desired. Sometimes, our 'cutting edge' approach may by judged to be 'goofy' - and we imagine that's what the client may have felt when presented this version for the branding of their e-commerce company. Rather than globes and swooshes (popular during this period) our designers created this atypical commerce logo featuring disjointed fonts and typography, and a large shielded 'X'. The client claimed to have liked the treatment, but wasn't willing to got out on a design 'limb', settling instead for a more traditional approach (featured elsewhere in our logo gallery). At present, we're working on a library of unused icons and designs that will be made available to clients through our sister project - Logos In A Box.
