Food logos - Culi Food Services - Restaurant Supply & Staffing.

Behind the Design Scenes: While still technically involved in the food services industry, Culi was unlike similarly themed restaurant logos we had developed previously and as such, needed to be handled quite differently. While many of our logos developed for restaurants and eateries are developed around themes (Krakatoa Seafood Restaurant) or ethnicity (Gandhi's Indian Cuisine Restaurant) Culi is a staffing agency for the entire food services industry, so any icons or images needed to be as generic as possible. After a few rounds of preliminary designs, whatever food icons our designers had developed had been downsized, almost to 'afterthought' category. On the other hand, the text portion of the design had become the visual focus, and Culi became more of a text based logo than anything else. The client and our designers finally settled on a set of icons - simple brush stroke illustrations of the items used in a typical place setting - knife, fork, spoon and napkin ring holder. The logo was also designed in such a way that the icons could be discarded and the text used in a solo setting. A very subtle color combination was added to the final BW design, keeping in mind the wide range of appeal the logo required.
