Landscaping logos - Entech Pest Systems - Pest Control & Lawn Care.

Behind the Design Scenes: Louisiana based Entech Pest Systems wanted an upscale logo treatment for their new landscaping, lawn care and pest control business. Their target market was the owners of upscale homes so any typical design approach to pest control (bugs with x-eyes, little cartoon character designs with chemical backpacks, etc) was eschewed for a simplified, corporate logo text treatment. The logo needed to be technically simple - planned usages were for the side of vans and location signs as well as the typical marketing uses - brochures, stationery and logo apparel. Our designers created this custom font treatment (using an off-the-shelf typography set as a starting point) and carved out the swoosh. In order to give visual balance to the logo, a second reflective shape was added to the bottom right of the design. A simple technique to give a unique 'look' to a fairly standard text based logo. The client opted for an atypical color scheme (the usual colors for landscape logos being green, pest control companies generally opting for a black/yellow combination) which seemed like a wise choice - the logo has stood up to the test of time, from both design and color perspectives
