Business Card Logo - Duracard Brand Business Cards.

Behind the Design Scenes: Duracard had a solitary vision for their new business - the development, manufacture and distribution of plastic coated business cards (as opposed to the standard offset print versions available in most stationery packages). It was this vision that set out to illustrate when the company hired The Logo Factory to develop their new corporate identity. After brainstorming through a load of logos and ideas, our designers began to focus in on one basic concept - a graphical representation of what the company actually does, and more importantly, what purpose their product serves. To that end, we developed a series of hands 'giving away' a business card on which was printed the company's particulars. We redacted the logo through several phases, simplifying it at every step until we were left with the iconic treatment you see here (it's often been said that you can judge an artists skill by their ability to draw human hands - one of the most complex contraptions in the world). We decided to go with a simple corporate color scheme of blue and gold (very popular in logos of the day). While this design served as the company logo for a stretch, Duracard rebranded a few years ago, and this design was nixed for a simple text treatment.
