Medical logo - Virginia Medical & Plastic Surgery.

Behind the Design Scenes: It is imperative that any logos featuring medical imagery be approached with both taste and sensitivity. The medical companies portrayed in these kind of logos are often dealing with difficult issues and a 'woo-hoo' logo would be completely inconsistent with that image. Here's what we think is a perfect example of that sensitivity personified - Virginia Plastic Surgery (which has remained a staff favorite over the years). A simple, tasteful icon representing the main focus of the medical practice - facial reconstruction and cosmetic surgery. The face featured in the logo shows what is possible with only a few brush strokes, while still developing a logo that is unique and dynamic. The color scheme was developed to be as non-abrasive as possible - avoiding blends and any other color tricks. The font treatment is based on an off-the-shelf typeface (Optima) though it was customized to get around several spacing issues. The logo was also designed to be used with, or without, the tag line.
