Leaf logos - Sprout Online Business Consultants & Development.

Behind the Design Scenes: End of the 1990's. At the height of the so-called dot com era, everybody wanted to start an internet business - many were just unaware of how to do so. This lead to the development of a business consulting cottage industry - business consultants affectionately referred to as 'incubators' (see - branding really IS everything!). These consultants would take fledgling businesses and help them grow - which brings us to the subject of this design example - Sprout Online. Sprout took the 'growing' concept literally (the company name) and wanted their logo to reflect this. In order to keep the name front and center, the 'growing' leaves were tied into the tag line background. The sprout font was angled slightly (a skewed font treatment can often indicate speed or in this case 'forward thinking). A dynamic color scheme was selected (web version shown) with the typical leaf green (for growth) tied in with oranage (non-typical). All in all a fairly elegant approach to a fairly simple concept.
