Pizza logo - Sal's Pizzeria.
Behind the Design Scenes: When our designers are working on corporate logos, in this case a restaurant, they might employ a whimsical approach to the design solution (see the artwork for Kokobana Mexican Grill and The Ugly Monkey nightclub for examples) At other times, they may work up a more conservative and traditional design. It all depends on what kind of identity the client wants developed for his/her business (for this reason, it's important that the client submit a farily detailed project brief at the onset of any design project). In the case of Sal's Pizza, the client wanted a conservative/traditional logo ("nothing too crazy") so our designers took a slightly illustrative approach - vines and peppers encompassing, and working through, the restaurant name. A subtle color combination was selected - matching the pizzeria's interior color scheme. A custom font treatment was worked up using some fairly creative spacing and kerning. This helps make for a memorable text only version. - in certain instances, the graphics surround the restaurant name would be dropped, and the text needed to be strong enough to work on its own. For more examples of pizzeria logos see The Pepperoni Pony and Homer's Pizza.
