Software logo design - Neo Tool Software Development.
Behind the Design Scenes: When it comes to corporate identities, factory imagery is very popular, especially with development and/or creative companies - software, hardware and yes, artwork. And it's imagery that we're quite comfortable with, having developed our own brand around a factory (for more on our history see our about page). In the design project for NeoTool Software Development the client had a fairly well developed idea of the direction for their corporate identity - typical factory icons and designs; cogs, gear logos and in this case, a cauldron. Rather than working up a full-blown illustrative logo, our designers took a minimalist approach, breaking the illustration down to a few simple lines - almost a gesture drawing. Simplicity was the key. The cogs, rather than being part of the icon, became part of the NeoTool lettering itself, forming the letters 'E' and 'O'. This treatment was not just a random way of introducing cogs and gears into the design. Our designers reasoned that if the typography was used solo (as it often is) it would still carry with it some of the original theme of the company. Once we had completed the logo development, our designers were also tasked to create more corporate identity material - namely the tool bar icons and product logos.
