Logo examples - Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked QuestionsHow will I be able to communicate with my designer throughout the design process?

At The Logo Factory we feel that client input is critical to the success of any project. To accomplish this we use a range of technology; from old fashioned phone (Toll free for US and Canada), email (direct to your designer) and live chat (our Factory Floor pages feature a Live Chat button that will page the designer working on your project). The logo examples featured in this gallery are a selection of previous work encompassing iconic, illustrative and text based designs. All the logo examples featured were developed by our in-hosue staff, working with remote clients in our Factory Floor online studio area. Some of the examples in this gallery include a description of the cretive process, some information about the original project brief, as well as some notes and points of interest from the actual logo creators themselves. To view any of the logos examples in full-screen size, simply click on the thumbnail images above, or scroll through the examples via the red arrow keys. In this gallery you'll find logo examples related to chickens, martial arts, fairy tales, photography, shells and farms. You'll also find examples of diner, restaurant and offroad vehicle designs. Logo examples - what makes a great design?

While whether or not a logo is 'great' remains completely subjective, following any, or all, of these 'Golden Rules' pointers will give you a logo that's usable, practical and promising a long shelf life.

1) Uniqueness - Your logo should be able to stand out as completely 'yours'. It's surprising how many times we get asked to copy logos - we've even had clients request a 'version' of our very own TLF house. Should go without saying, but that's never a good idea. On top of the potential legal complications nothing screams 'unprofessional' like logo examples that look even remotely like someone else's. Do not copy. I'll say it again. Do. Not. Copy.

2) Timeless - Every few years there's a trend, or fad, that new logos seems to embrace. A few years ago it was the 'swoosh logo' - made companies all hi-tech and 'internety'. Trouble is, everybody jumped on that bandwagon and the treatment rapidly became hackneyed and trite. Few years hence, and we've got lots of people stuck with out of date designs. The latest design logo trend is so-called 2.0, a technique that (like a lot of design trends) can be traced back to Apple Computers. Take your logo, add a 'gel' treatment, give it glassy reflection at the bottom and you're all set. (hey - the 3D version of our house logo could qualify!). Web 2.0 is still going strong, but I'll go out on a limb and say it will be yesterday's news by end of summer... [More Design Golden Rules]
