The Logo Factory, while using a web site to communicate with clients and to showcase our work, is actually set up in the back-end like a fairly traditional brick-and-mortar studio. Corporate Identity Design
Corporate identity design is supposed to develop a brand that is as topical today as the period during which they were originally created. Our Classic Logos feature examples of corporate logo projects that our staff finalized between the years of 1995 - 2002 and featured on earlier versions of our website galleries. The corporate identity design that started it all.
2006 marked The Logo Factory's 10th Anniversary and we thought it would be fun to take a look back a some of the milestones we reached over the decade. The corporate identity that started it all? That honor goes to the mark created for the Burbank, California based Black Knight Drum Corp, the very first logo created using our online design model. This was also the project that nudged TLF founder Steve Douglas into developing what would become one of the first (if not the first) online logo design studios back in 1996. Pete Ellison, the director of the Black Knights had run into Douglas' personal portfolio web site (the precursor site to TLF) through a search on the now defunct InfoSeek search engine). Pete liked what Steve had done with other logos, and sent off an e-mail - “how much would you charge to design a logo for our drum corp?”. That simple request made Douglas realize that he could communicate with remote clients, work on their projects and even deliver the final file formats via the Internet, without ever meeting face-to-face.
