Zoo logos - Chimpanzee Species Survival Plan.

The Chimpanzee Species Survival Plan (SSP) is a volunteer organization that serves 37 zoos across the United States to help guide the management and care of the chimpanzee population. When it came to branding this worthwhile cause, it was decided that a highly realistic monkey was required, in order to capture the human-like traits of chimpanzees - one of the main marketing points of the zoo support program. The logo was also to be placed on fund-raising logo clothing and other retail marketing items, so a colorful, dynamic image was required. The artwork was created using photo reference, and the typography utilized a bold font as to not be lost in the complex illustration. The logo is currently being utilized at all the zoos that are signatories of the SSP.
