About: Logo design for Random Task - a computer servicing company that offers hardware & software support and services for small to mid-size home and office based businesses.
Logos & Letterhead Brief: Random Task offer custom tailored solutions with on-site visits. Rather than the cold, harsh treatment that customers would receive from their ISP, or PC manufacturer's support options, Random Task promises "a warm and caring interaction for our clients".
The client wanted their new logo, letterhead & stationery design to communicate "that we are revolutionary to the Computer IT support industry for small businesses. We need to provide our clients with the immediate impression that we are superior to our competitors in the manner in which we deliver computer services and support. Important qualities: honesty, integrity, fairness, professionalism and trustworthiness".

Our designers developed this swirling vortex icon to be 'open ended' or adaptable to a wide range os uses. The client wanted a mark that could fit into any to company growth and whatever new services might be added. Then there was the deal about color, while secondary to the actual design, critical for subsequent applications. Here's a perfect example why color should be very carefully selected was your identity is completed. The client was originally interested in the old Microsoft Internet Blue, the color so prevalent in MS's old websites. Trouble is, that color cannot be reproduced in traditional printing (it is an RGB color without any four color process or spot color equivalents). Above is a side-by-side comparison of the web safe blue requested, and a compromise blue that will reproduce across all mediums. Bottom line - just because your new logo looks 'snazzy' on a monitor does not mean that it will look cool printed on a brochure design or custom presentation folders. Careful color matching is the only way to go - here's the Random Task letterhead, business card and envelope...

Letterhead design - The 'cyclone' aspect of the logo was carried over into the company's stationery & letterhead design, and the muted color captured the qualities the client desired. The logo was also featured as a 'card back' - a extra print on their business card, a tactic used by today's more aggressive companies to get noticed.
