About: A logo design for Beaten by Nuns - a Phildelphia-based alternative, grunge and punk music band.
Logo Brief: When it comes to their image, rock bands are supposed to break all the rules both in terms of naming and supporting visuals. Case in point - Beaten by Nuns, an alternative music band from Philadelphia. The name itself is an attention-grabber. For the graphic support of such a grim subject, our designers came up with stern nun, gothic text with the starkness of BW, high contrast graphics completing the image. Designed as a linear black and white design, this logo is made up of solid blacks and devoid of half-tones (screens) or greys. This is the best type of logo for use on low-resolution (and low--budget) printing and can be reproduced economically on silk-screen items such as T-shirts, premium incentives, etc. Linear versions of your logo can also be printed using a colored ink. This type of image is perfect for the low-tech methods of reproduction used on band tour shirts and other band memorabilia - the rock and roll staples.
