About: Logo design for Homeline Systems - company specializing in home automatio - the installation of electronics and related cabling & wiring - electrical, lighting, security, surveillance cameras, telephone networks, whole house audio video, etc.
Logo Brief: There are many ways that one can screw up a perfectly good logo. and by all accounts, this design commits two of the cardinals - namely a visual cliche (light bulb) incorporated into a swoosh logo (a trend that died out at the end of the new millennium). Which only goes to prove that there are no 'set in stone' rules with it comes to developing a new new corporate identity. The light bulb is stylized enough to work, while the swooshes are integrated with the design, as opposed to overpowering the other visual elements. The black and orange color scheme is one that we've used ourselves on internal marketing, while the graphic treatment of the mark is simple enough to work in vinyl signage (on the side of trucks). This was one of the first applications planned by the client, so it was vital when we set out to create logo preliminaries, concepts and sketches.
Here's the client's description of their own company - new energetic company delivering high quality service and serving mid to upper income families and age groups, In both residential and small business markets. Does the mark work? We think so.
