About: Logo design for the Cooksville Phantoms, an Ontario- based 'Triple A' youth hockey team. The Phantoms wanted The Logo Factory to design their new mascot, logo and team emblem while paying some homage to the team's illustrious history - The Cooksville Hockey Association initially began in 1945-46 as the Cooksville Athletic Club and later changed to the Cooksville Sports Club.
Logo Brief: Hockey logo design can sometimes vex even the most experienced designer. Generally, sports teams will want a character based brand and this is particularly true of any youth sports team. Such was the case with The Phantoms, who wanted their very own phantom as a central theme of their hockey team logo, but a character that would not interfere with general reproduction. The logo was to be reproduced on all manner of team items, stationery design, but most importantly the team's official game shirts. The logo was to be embroidered on hockey jerseys, hats and other sorts related items, so it had to be simple enough to translate into an effective stitch count.
