About: A logo design for Premier Orhopaedics - A Sports Medicine clinic that wanted a new 'Sport Logo' that would "compliment (their) current look, rather than confusing it".
Logo Brief: Premier Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is a large group practice of orthopaedic surgeons practicing as a well-recognized and well-respected organization in Middle Tennessee. Their original corporate logo was designed with a torch - to portray professionalism and also, through the torch, the sports aspect of the practice. Now, Premier Ortho wanted a 'sport logo', one that could be use in marketing, sponsoring and also - company sports teams.
The Logo Brief - "Our new sports medicine logo is to be used to create large size logo embroidery patches for use on hockey jerseys and also to be printed on T-shirts, hats and other sports paraphernalia. The physician who originated this project has a hockey jersey with a bright, colorful logo for ESPNZone. He is thinking of this as the model for where we would like to go. He is thinking of a major design feature like the torch in our current business logo, superimposed over a triangle or square or circle."
"The logo should be young, hip enough that people will want to wear it not just on the sports field but to school or work. We would like to use some of the design elements of the current logo, such as the flame on the torch and/or the gold color and/or the same font type for Premier, and then add new and "exciting" elements to make it hip."
"The four rings on the current sports medicine business logo may imply the Olympics, but in actuality they represent the four original office locations when the practice started about five years ago".
