Hansen Construction Company logo.
Client: Hansen Construction Company.
Design Category: Contractor, Industrial, Home Builder.
About: A logo design for Hansen Construction - a Texas based construction company that presently specializes in windows and door installation for high market homes. The company plans to expand services in the future.
Logo Brief: Sometimes, the last thing you want your logo to portray is what you do. Strange, perhaps, but true nonetheless. Take a logo for a construction company for example. Especially one that prides itself on work in upscale markets. The reality of construction work is mud, dirty and oily equipment and tractors, sweaty construction workers, porta-potties and other necessary items that do not necessarily lend themselves to a 'nice' logo treatment. Such was the case with Hansen Construction, who after years of being in business, finally decided to brand themselves and were looking for an upscale, sophisticated look.
The client wanted a logo that portrayed their current specialization (windows and doors), yet was vague enough to allow for use when the company branched out into other avenues. The logo had to be appropriate for their market (million dollar and up homes) as well as simple enough to reproduce on typical construction equipment - trucks, hard hats, etc.
The Logo Factory design team developed a simple icon, beveled in blue to indicate glass (without being overbearing) and worked the company name into a rectangular banner which could be used with the icon, or solo. The logo is actually one color - all the details are made up from screens of the main blue. See our technical articles area for more on files, formats and colors.
