Logo Brief: While Quest Surgical Partners were firmly attached to the medical field, they wanted to avoid any cliché imagery (see MedTrust Medical for more on medical symbols and their history). As a developer who sets up and consults on medical centers, Quest were more interested in a solid logo and one that portrayed "style, substance and contemporary approach". In order to accomplish this, our logo designers settled on working on a very simple icon - using the letter Q - as the center point of the logo. In order to maximize the options for planned usage's (a wide variety of media, sizes and resolution), we decided to build a logo that could be deconstructed as well - every bit could be used with, or without the other components.
The icon could stand on its own, or with a tagline (ABOVE). It could also be used in conjunction with the acronym for Surgical Partners (SP) which was created in a matching font style (BELOW).
A slight glow in the upper left corner of the icon, combined with a very slight bevel completed the design. It should be noted that ANY bevels used in logos should be VECTOR based (as opposed to added in PIXEL based software programs like Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Fireworks). In order to maximize reproduction, ANY logo - and any visual 'tricks' - should start off in VECTOR based images with such file extensions as .EPS.
