About: Logo design for Leaderwear - clothing company that produces "athletic inspired" sports apparel.
Logo Brief: Leaderwear's mission statement is that of a company "that believes in making a positive statement while portraying refreshing designs for sports apparel." Leaderwear were looking for a logo that's "new, creative, and refreshing to the sports apparel world. An attention grabber that sets itself apart from the likes of Nike, Reebok, Under Armour, Ecko, Rocawear, etc. Something that can not only be used on athletic apparel during the game, but something that will look good on garments for after the game on T-shirts, polo's, and hats." Reproducing a design on logo clothing requires files that are prepared quite differently than the technical setup required for stationery design, letterhead design and/or brochure design. The logo is applied directly onto the garment using a technique called 'silk-screen' reproduction and pre-mixed textile inks. Generally, this involves working with positive films (as opposed to negatives used in offset printing) and may require a complete new set of file formats. Any graphic design firm can assist you in selecting the correct method of file format setup.
