About: Logo design for Affordable Magazines - a company that offers discount subscriptions to most major magazines through their web site and brick-and-mortar operations.

Logo Brief: Affordable Magazines Inc. wanted a custom logo that illustrated the core activity of the company - discount magazine subscriptions - without looking 'cheap'. The logo was to portray the usual buzzwords "trustworthy, reliable and service oriented".

Our designers created an icon that portrayed an open magazine, and then incorporated a wide-angle perspective version of the A and M lettering into the design. In order to keep the overall brand design from becoming unnecessarily cluttered, a simple sans-serif logo font, with bold and book versions, was selected. The type was then placed far enough away from the icon so that the icon (and font) could be utilized separately and/or together.

While the new thrust of Affordable Magazines Inc. was their new web site, they also had a thriving brick-and-mortar division. For maximum adaptability, the logo was designed in two color as to reproduce economically in traditional letterhead and stationery design printing.
