Restaurant logo - Gandhi Indian Restaurant.
Client: Gandhi Indian Restaurant (Las Vegas).
Design Category: Restaurant
About: Logo design for Gandhi Indias Cuisine is an award winning restaurant, located in Las Vegas, that serves an assortment of North and South Indian dishes. Gandhi has consistently been recommended by locals and visitors as the best Indian restaurant and has received honors such as the Best Ethnic Restaurant of Las Vegas. The restaurant already had a brand - and elephant design - that had been in use for years.
Logo Brief: This logo project probably qualifies more as a logo change than a new design, as the image was well conceptualized before The Logo Factory was brought in to finish and cleanup the artwork, even though the project did start off as a brand new design.
Originally, the restaurant had wanted to use an image of Gandhi, or an abstract icon based on an object that would be associated with Gandhi in order to portray an Indian theme. After a few rounds of revisions, it was decided that the restaurant would keep their current image (two face-to-face elephants) and their current color scheme (burgundy and black). A new typestyle was to be added, and the icon was to be cleaned up, stylized and made "more modern". Changing their elephant themed logo slightly (rather than a complete makeover) allows the restaurant advertising agency to slowly integrate the new logo into printed material (stationery, letterheads, etc.) and point of sale items like menus and websites. This allows the related expenses to be amortized over time - a real factor for any company thinking of changing their established logo.
To assist you in revamping your current logo, The Logo Factory offers an relatively inexpensive logo repair alternative.
