About: Logo design for The Loco Lobo - a Southwestern Cafe specializing in "freshly prepared meals that are served quickly in an warm and exciting atmosphere".

Logo Brief: When the owners of The Loco Lobo approached The Logo Factory to create the logo for their new restaurant, they already had an idea of what they wanted - a crazy wolf (loco lobo) howling at the moon. They were open to suggestions on the final rendering, type styles and color schemes.

This logo required an illustrative approach, and as with most of our illustration logos, was begun with a series of rough sketches to nail down the character before we went to final rendering. Many online design firms boast of being able to utilize the 'latest design software' but the final design in computer software is the final step, not the 'only' step. Illustrative logos require old-fashioned drawing skills, and the ability to produce preliminary sketches which will form the basis for any software driven development.

Our designers worked on a few wolf heads (which were worked up into an alternate wolf logo featured here) before deciding to try a more stylized approach (MAIN INSET) which finally resulted in the main logo presented. An appropriate color scheme was selected along with the client supplied tagline - "Fresh, Exciting and Always Inviting".
