About: 3D Logo design and internal logo variant for new TLF 3D logo animation and multimedia division (below - wireframe test render).
Logo Brief: As long as a considerable amount of caution is exercised, changing a current logo can be an effective way to 'jazz up' your marketing efforts, or to announce the expansion of your company into new areas. Even at The Logo Factory we are not immune to such changes, as well as the resultant rules and caveats. Case in point, our new 3D logo design, created in order to 'brand' our new animation and multimedia division. When we began to work on our new 3D logo animation material, we obviously required a three dimensional version of The Logo Factory house - one that could be animated, moved, rotated, turned into a corporate logo screensaver, etc (a wireframe motion study is featured at left). Trouble is, our 'House' was designed back in 1996 and was designed as a simple 2D version (without much attention to perspective and other 3D logo rules). In order to create an accurate 3D version of the house, certain design modifications had to be made. As with any logo design repair or makeover, we had the usual caveats, rules and restrictions. The Logo Factory name, house and fontography are all registered trademarks so we couldn't stray too far away from the original design. Our logo has also been featured throughout the world, so we did not want to change any recognition factors. Our logo designers changed only what needed to change, keeping the original font and color scheme largely intact. For the new version of our website, we decided that a more realistic approach was required - you can read about how The Logo Factory goes 3D in our blog.
