About: Brand development for Biscuit Gram - a gourmet pet food manufacturer and distributor.
Logo Brief: Who could resist this little fellah? Biscuit Gram is a Gloucester, MA company who bake high-quality, all-natural, gourmet dog biscuits for our furry friends. This logo was created primarily for use on the product packaging, gold-colored tins, which contain the Biscuit Gram brand dog treats, and other items - a gift package for dog lovers.
Some of the initial keywords submitted with the project profile included adorable, heartwarming. colorful. sweet, delicious and quality. The client originally wanted a generic puppy face to be the focal point but after working with a few cartoon renderings of puppies we ended up going with a slightly more photo-realistic version shown here. The colors shown in the logo design were chosen specifically to contrast against the gold tin packaging, and to further enhance the concept of high-quality gourmet treats.
As some other logo uses planned include packaging, Logo T Shirts, Stickers. Mugs, Logo Embroidery and other merchandise, it was decided pretty early in the design process to enclose the logo inside a shield. This allows the design to be reproduced on a number of colored backgrounds and media.
