Logo Brief: Colorado based Cherry Creek Elite - a 15,000 sq. ft. cheerleading training facility - wanted to update their old logo for use as a company brand, as well as artwork for their cheerleading squad uniforms. Cherry Creek’s original direction requested that a tiger (or similar cat) be worked into the design. As the project progressed, the design became simpler and simpler, until the only remnant of the original tiger ‘motif’ was the claw graphics as featured above. The CCE portion of the design is intended to suggest the frenetic ‘whirlwind’ movements of a cheerleading routine, while spelling out the initials of the organization. This new graphic also doubled as a standalone CCE icon which could be used on the cheerleading squad’s sweaters and jackets as a cloth patch.
(Above left) The logo, cut in vinyl as it’s applied to the windows of the CCE facility.
In order to effectively use your new logo in this manner, it’s preferable to have a ‘flat’ design ie: no blends or gradients. (Left) The standalone CCE icon version. (Right) The CCE icon version of the design as featured as logo embroidery on the cheerleading squad jersies. You can view more on the logo as it’s being used on the Cherry Creek website here.
