While The Logo Factory studio blog is primarily designed to tell folks about The Logo Factory, it’s (hopefully) more than that. I’d like to think much more, but only time will tell. On our blog we’ll also discuss design issues, the industry, marketing (hits and misses) as well as showcasing effective logo design, from inside our studio and out. We’ll also feature some of the quirky issues about all aspects of design media, including this great thing known as the web. We also hope to have a few laughs.
Unlike many other logo design centric blogs, ours isn’t a ‘closed loop’ journal – featuring only news items that are relevant to our shop, combined with the odd news piece pinched from other sites on the web. It’s also not created with the sole purpose of developing key-word rich pages for search engine penetration (the goal of 90% of the similarly themed design blogs you’ll run into). Like everything we attempt, we’re hoping to be a little different than just another ‘logo design company blog’. We’ll also feature profiles, sites and case studies from other designers – we like to think of ourselves as part of the design community and offer a platform for other designers to have their say. Naturally, this is a risky stance – we may even lose potential clients who might find other designers to take up their projects. That’s a risk that we’re willing to take.
Our studio – and web site – were created with one thing in mind. Effective logo design. While the designers at TLF are experts in the field, we’re certainly not the only experts, and opening The Factor up to other designers helps us continue with, and expand upon, our original philosophy. We’ll also attempt to tackly the hot-button isses from both designer and client points-of-view, an approach that we hope is better in the long haul for clients, designers and the industry in general.
In the meantime, feel free to participate in the discussions. Comment on our posts (yes, you can add a link to your site), send us your press releases. If you’re a past client of The Logo Factory, we’d love to hear about how you’ve used our work in your business venture. Just looking for some design stuff to read? That’s okay too – here’s today’s offerings…
