NewsNot much going on in logo land. Couple of interesting items on the toobz though -

Just when you thought it was safe, we wanna talk about the 2012 London Olympics logo some more. This time it’s some dude from the creative agency responsible, and he’s testing the water before (I suspect) some serious bragging about how the logo was so far ahead of it’s time. Don’t think so…

The PGA meanwhile, announces their new logo. Ahm, is it me, or is it pretty well like the old one? Not, I expect, to Joe Steranka, CEO kinda guy who tells us – “While the game’s popularity has increased enormously over the last decade, we are confident this new logo and brand strategy will enhance our image while providing the necessary education and resources for our members.”

MacWare announces the new Logo Design Studio Pro software, informing us once again that – sigh – nobody needs no stoopid designer to create no steenking logos. Could have saved myself a few years in the trenches if this puppy was around when I was a little fellah. Before that completely useless art school edukashun and all that.

And just when we finished a fine screed about logo contests, we find out that Boulder City Channel 8 is holding one. No fear of lurkers or deadbeats here, so I expect the prize – $100 Downtown Boulder Inc. gift card – is as good as cash. Not a lot of it. Just as good as it.
