Check this out http://logovoting.com -- vote for the 2008 presidential candidate based purely on their campaign logo. Pretty cool.

Tim

Thanks for dropping by. I think Paul makes some valid comments.

Paul

Never saw the 'nuke over a wheat field' Obama image until now. Alas, can't unsee it (thanks a lot!). You make some valid points about the Rudy logo, though I still feel it would be more appropriate to say, a baseball player, than a presidential candidate.

Rudy Logo

Contrary to the moderator, I actually like the Rudy branding. It's bold and simple, and I don't think a campaign graphic has to always hit you over the head. By just having the text RUDY in bold, with a bold outline, it looks strong, decisive, yet also personal - in my view.

As a nod to the moderator, I'd like to add that while the graphic would work well in NY on it's own, it does need additional subtext for other states to make the image complete. While he may be well known in the blue states, is the graphic communicating at all to the red states?

Chris Dodd Logo

Chris Dodd has reciently updated his logo, as Mr. Cullen has mentioned. While not setting any new trends, it is clean. If I can make a text suggestion? The subtext that says "President 2008" should be no wider than the stars at the top of the logo. This will make "DODD" stand out more, and balance the top and bottom of the overall shape. Right now, the branding has a fat bottom. Overall, the font is nice.

Some logo advise for the candidates

- Bold fonts
- Stick with deep, rich colors in the background to add strength
- Create a bold single icon to go with the text, or something bold to go around the text

Worst logo of this lot has to go to Mr.Gillmore. By putting a large '08 on one side, and a large G on the other, both in the same color I might add, it distracts the eye from reading the overall graphic from left to right.

Obama Logo

I'd like to mention that the Obama logo, while seeming to suggest a new horizon, could have a negative interpretation. Think nuclear blast over a field. Attach that image with a name similar to "bomb" and it just doesn't work well. I can read the headline now - "Vote for Obama and get nuked".

Hi--just wanted to quickly point out that we've since re-designed our website. Please check http://ChrisDodd.com to see the new look. Would be interested in hearing your opinion of the new logo.

Thanks,
