Going take a few minutes this sunny afternoon to announce a new printing partnership that we’ve been developing for the past few months. This is something entirely new for us – over the years, I’ve always been reluctant to ‘endorse’ one printer or another (especially when it come to online printing shops). When we first launched The Logo Factory, we started off offering ’boutique’ printing support – babysitting printing projects using local shops (many of which were operated by long-time friends), but with the growing number of active in-house projects, and a glut of discount printers (often at expense of quality) we found it unfeasible to continue. Proofing was always a hassle (we used to send press proofs to clients via Federal Express), time delays were prohibitive and freight costs exorbitant. Originally, the economy allowed us to focus on delivering a quality product, rather than competing with printing companies on price (where most of the printing quality is lost). As the years wore on, printing prices dropped greatly, and save a few projects here-and-there (for established clients who didn’t mind paying a premium for our designers to walk their projects through a carefully monitored process) we got out of the printing business entirely.

We’ve never had much success with online printing companies – their quality is generally haphazard (at best), and whatever discount is earned by using them is quickly negated by the print quality (or rather, lack thereof). I was always less than impressed with the customer service of most online print shops, and was reluctant to vouch for any of them to our clients (over the course of a design project, clients learn to trust The Logo Factory and I’d didn’t want to blow that trust by turning them on to a print shop who wasn’t up to snuff). Accordingly, and despite numerous requests, we’ve never ‘partnered’ up with any online printing company. Until now. I’m happy to announce that The Logo Factory has recently partnered up with Printing For Less, an online printing company that has very effectively bridged the gap between decent pricing and outstanding print quality.

I do so unreservedly, after spending the last few months discussing the Printing For Less operations with VP of Business Development, Philip Naro, talking to the production team and taking a look at the quality of final printed products. Rather than your typical online printing firm (who use a wide range of cost cutting techniques which ultimately only serve to hamper print quality), PFL have managed to merge brick-and-mortar quality with the convenience of online ordering, proofing and project management. PFL were the first online printing company, named one of Fortune magazines fastest growing companies three years in a row – a testament to their dedication to their craft – and have a client list of over 70,000 businesses across the USA and abroad. As a client of TLF (or a reader of this blog), your printing projects will be in very good hands indeed.

As a bonus, we’ve also negotiated a 10% discount on ALL first orders, so you’ll save even more on Printing For Less‘ already reasonable rates. On the PFL website, they’ve set up a dedicated print shop for The Logo Factory clients, as well as a dedicated customer support team to handle any questions you might have. They’re up to speed on our design team’s file setups, so any stationery design projects can be turned over to Printing For Less without any hassles or technical worries. As an added bonus, PFL are 100% green (in fact, their facilities are run completely using wind power).

Other features offered to TLF print clients include
• Pre-sale customer service regarding your projects
• Technical review on all files to ensure that they will impose properly on PFL’s state-of-the-art Heidelberg presses and posting of Adobe Acrobat proofs via email to ensure that customer projects meet expectations (customers have the ability through an online proofing process to make changes/correction. All corrections will be second, and
subsequent proofs, for approval – each and every time)
• Making of all necessary corrections and posting new proofs to customers online project management area
• Post-sale customer support
