London 2012 Olympics logo launched

New 2012 London Olympic Games logo is causing quite a stir.

Hitting the toobz this morning - the new London 2012 Olympics logo has been officially launched. In a word - hideous. In two - absolutely hideous. Looks like someone dropped a perfectly good logo on the floor and broke it. I’m not on my lonesome either - in a brief hunt through design blogs and forums, I can’t find a single soul who has a good thing to say about the mark. A synopsis of the whys and the whos here. Scrap and change the ridiculous logo unveiled for the London 2012 Olympics.

In an ongoing BBC poll, over 80% of people when given the choice of describing this logo as Gold, Silver or Bronze chose the alternative - a wooden spoon. For comparison purposes, you can view previous efforts below and here.
