at a scant one page, MTV’s is one of the shortest ever.

MTV logoLogo styleguides dictate the usages of corporate logos. Everything from acceptable sizes, color, thumbs-up and thumbs-down uses, background colors, to the amount of space that must be left around a logo are covered. The average guide features (or trys to feature) a check list for every imaginable scenario, and style guides can be phone-book thick (I’ve seen guides that are 100s of pages long and read like a lawyer’s treatise). Not the folks at MTV. Their style guide is a scant one page long and is descrbed by the creators (London Agency Hi-Res) as being a styleguide for folks who don’t like styleguides. Hat tip to Life Clever who also feature a shot of the guide at the link above.
