google islamic crescent

Conservatives find another example of the hidden Muslim agenda. This time it’s in the Google Veteran’s Day logo. Sadly, we’re not kidding

First, they found an Islamic Crescent in the new Missile Command logo. Then they found another one in the logo for the Nuclear Security Summit. This time it’s the Google logo featured on the search engine’s home page to commemorate Veteran’s Day (above).

A freak out on Twitter ensued, as did this chastizing by a supposedly ‘serious’ technology blogger over at Yahoo’s Associated Content

Way to go, Google. Give crazies such as Pamela Geller, Terry Jones and Tea Party patriots the fuel they need to wage an all-out slugfest of vitriol against Islam for ruining an American tradition. The Google doodle is distasteful at best, hateful at worst, for this Veterans Day. Your Google doodle is supposed to enlighten and educate those who click on it, not cause a rift between two world powers.

The stupid it burnsLet me break this down. Google runs different versions of their logo on special events and holidays. This one features an American flag (quite appropriate for Veteran’s Day). The positioning of the flagpole is to make up the letter ‘L” in Google. Because of that, the flag is covering up part of the ‘E’ in Google, the remainder of which is poking out at the bottom.

Glad I could clear that up.

  1. Chris says:

Ridiculous Muslim crescent comments aside, the logo does look odd having the ‘e’ poking out beneath the flag. In the interests of commenting on the logo design, it would look better imo without any of the ‘e’ showing.

There are plenty of doodle examples in the past that have had letters completely removed by images that don’t fully replace them.

Perhaps this is an example of American dumbing down?!

  2. Wheee!!! More tinfoil hattery from the paranoid wackadoodles. NOW, if it had been a GREEN crescent…. :)

  3. The Muslims will be flattered if that is true but I do not think it is an Islamic crescent. It’s trully funny people think it is…Just goes to show their silly phobia..
