According to the Chicago Tribune, the city must change their highly popular logo design concept for their 2016 Olympics bid. In making the order IOC officials point to Olympic rules that state –

…Logos shall not contain the Olympic symbol, the Olympic motto, the Olympic flag, any other Olympic-related imagery (e.g. flame, torch, medal, etc.), slogan, designation or other indicia or the distorted version thereof or a design confusingly similar thereto…

This sports logo was heavily discussed on various design blogs and forums last fall with the design receiving a mostly positive critique. Back to the drawing board I guess. And just wait until they get a load of the 2012 London Olympics logo.
