Website logos – Internet Auction Secrets Book logo.

This logo was designed for a ‘self-help’ video and DVD named, as the logo illustrates – Internet Auction Secrets. Used on the cover art, as well as throughout the video itself, the Internet Auction Secrets logo is an example of an effective, yet simple, ‘button’ design. As a self contained image (all the artwork is bordered and features a solid color background) the logo is perfect for reproduction on a myriad of backgrounds (and in this case – as a video ‘bug’). The blue and green color scheme of the design is dynamic enough to stand up to reproduction on TV screens and monitors, yet is still well within the print gamma used by traditional printing such as letterheads and stationery design.

Inset Logo A – DDR Tech are a software development and consulting firm that was formed to build software that extends the functionality and life of existing accounting packages. Their major project – Financial Extensions- supports a financial system developed by Flexi International software and another package supported by McKessonHBOC, a leading medical industry software supplier. DDR Tech also builds custom web reporting solutions that access these two accounting systems from the inter/intranet. As the company grew, the principals wanted to change their logo design to reflect a more hi-tech flavor (rather than the “keystone kops” imagery that many on staff where partial to). The company’s tag line is “Extending Your Possibilities” and that was the central theme that The Logo Factory worked around. The design was rendered in green and blue, a favorite logo color combination of many hi-tech companies.

Inset Logo B – Using an illustrative logo treatment in your logo can be quite effective and can allow your brand to tell a story about your company, product or service. An illustrative logo, however, comes with a unique set of caveats that it usually requires a skilled designer to pull off. The design needs to be simple enough to reproduce well on a wide variety of media, yet elaborate enough so that it doesn’t run the risk of appearing like ‘Clip Art’. Such a logo can be terrifically unique and stand out dramatically in the crowded marketplace. Such was the case for My Auction Source.
