Monkey logo – Rent Jungle Real Estate.

Behind the Design Scenes: Rent Jungle is an example of an atypical treatment in a category that generally eschews such an approach. Most real estate logos take a fairly conservative approach, but in the creative briefing on this project, the client told us he wanted the image of a monkey ‘juggling an apartment’. This direction made a cartoon mascot logo approach the only logical one for our designers to take. Development of a cartoon or mascot for a brand development requires a series of preliminary concepts and sketches before the designer can turn to rendering of the final product.

Such was the case with the creative process for Rent Jungle, during which our design staff created several styles and illustrations before settling on the simple linear approach featured here. A building was added – designed with forced perspective to enhance the comical theme – and a funky font and typography treatment completed the look. As the planned usage of the monkey logo was wide-range – initial marketing included vinyl banners – a flat color scheme was necessary and any blends where discarded throughout the design process.
