Construction logo – Bloated Fish Concrete Works.

Behind the Design Scenes: Bloated Fish took a very atypical approach to the development of their corporate identity workups (not surprising really, considering the name of the company). Rather than a traditional treatment – see here for more typical construction logos, the client tasked our designers with the development of a cartoon logo, a fish to be exact (which would then serve as the company mascot). Through a series of preliminary illustrations and concepts, we settled on the version you see here. A funky logo font treatment was added and the entire design was ‘shielded’ – one way to ensure a wide range of applications. Imagine our (and the client’s surprise) when another design firm began advertising a blatant knock-off on their web site (see our copycats section for more. You can also view the process that ended in the final version of the company’s mascot). This further illustrates the need to hire an established design company to create your logo, rather than some fly-by-night web site offering unlimited logo revisions and $50 knock-off logos.
