Coffee logos – Forest Hills Coffee Company.

Forest Hills is a coffee house that features fresh roasted coffees, specialty coffees (espresso, cappuccino) and fresh baked goods. We also feature a sandwich shop the offers pannini sandwiches and seasonal items – frozen blended drinks during summer and hot soups throughout the winter. “One of the main areas that separates us from the competition is that we roast our own beans on-site for our coffee customers so our new logo design should convey freshness. We also package and sell our coffee beans to the public so we need a strong, bold corporate logo that reproduces well on packaging as well as letterhead, T-shirts etc. We don’t want to overly focus on the roasting aspect of our company in the logo, as there are companies that are just roasters and may not have a retail location. We don’t want to confuse our brand We have live entertainment on weekends as well as poetry readings and art exhibits so we want a certain level of “cool and hip” but also want to retain a level of classiness. On other words, our new company logo design should be strong, hip and classy. We’ve very partial to earth colors.”

Pretty well describes the image above, doncha think? Our logo designers selected a hand-drawn motif, with an abstract cup, beans and coloring (for a more illustrative design approach to a coffee themed logo, see the Bull and Goat Cafe coffee company logo for another example). Font is a customized version using an off-the-shelf typography set as a base. Color scheme was selected using warm ‘earth tones’ and also represented the colors to be used inside the shop.
