Candy logos – Greenbrier Confections – Quality Sweets & Candies.

About: Logo for candy company, manufacturer and distributor. The creative brief for Geenbrier Confections was quite simple. The client wanted a corporate identity that was reminiscent of candy companies and stores from ‘earlier days’ – a ‘down home’ image that reflected the company’s mantra (Quality Sweets at an Honest Price). Rather than developing a complex character or cartoon logo, our designers decided to work with text only – the brand mark also needed to reproduce fairly small on candy wrappers and packaging – and needed to be applicable for a wide range of candy products. A simple text font was selected, and the company motto placed inside a banner graphic. In order to make the brand as versatile as possible, it was developed inside a solid color ‘shield’. The background stripes of the shield were created as a ‘hat tip’ to candy stores in the 50′s and 60′s – this pattern was very prominent in store awnings and decor.
